The unexpected journey to founding Britannical began in 2013. Founder, Rachael was passing through a department store and noted a particularly beautiful girl’s winter coat. Taken aback by the exquisite colour and cut of the coat, she imagined how lovely her daughter would look in it. Upon closer look and speaking to a shop assistant, she learned the coat was made predominately from synthetic materials, machine manufactured and was not made in the United Kingdom or Europe. Yet, the eyewatering price tag reflected that of a designer piece.
The coat was not a limited edition or a special release, Rachael was given no reason as to why it warranted such a price. This discovery got her thinking. She thought to herself, could she create a children’s clothing brand that had more value to consumers beyond simply ‘looking nice’, and this is when Britannical London was born.
