Elvis & Kresse was founded in 2005 with a simple ethos: rescue raw materials and transform them into luxury lifestyle accessories. This has been the pinnacle of the business since day one.
Following a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade, they learned that damaged and decommissioned hoses were sent to landfill. After learning this, they decided they would make it their mission to rescue these materials and breathe new life into them. For over a decade none of London's fire hoses have gone to landfill and over 300 tonnes of material has been reclaimed.
Not all sustainable brands are as transparent as Elvis & Kresse. It's rare to find a brand that contributes so heavily to a circular economy approach, as well as one that finds materials from such a unique source.
As well as the aforementioned work with the London Fire Brigade, Elvis & Kresse also partnered with the Burberry Foundation in 2017 to hep solve the greater problem of global leather waste. The five-year partnership has seen over 120 tonnes of leather off-cuts from Burberry recrafted into new luxury items, designed and sold by Elvis & Kresse.
If that's not enough, they also donate 50% of profits back to the charities that they partner with. It's rare that sustainable shopping is quite as guilt-free as this.
