Complete Crochet Workshop (5-hour online workshop)
For those who are looking for a thorough introduction to the craft of crochet, this five-hour workshop is a wonderful option. Suitable for complete beginners who have never crocheted before, or for anyone who may have crocheted in the past but has forgotten the main technique and the basic stitches.
By the end of this experience, you will:
- Know the difference between US and UK terminology
- Understand how your hook size, tension, and yarn weight affects the outcome of your finished piece
- Be able to cast a foundation chain
- Complete a row of single crochet stitches (US)
- Practice the correct way to turn and continue the next row
- Complete a row of half double & double crochet stitches (US)
- Create a magic ring to start
- Use an alternative to the magic ring, and know which one suits your pattern best
- Know how to work in a continuous round using key stitches
- Know how to work in joined rounds using key stitches
- Understand the suitability of using a continuous round or a joined round, and apply each technique depending on your pattern
- Learn how to watch out for the fake stitch
- Be able to increase and decrease
- Know how to change yarn colour in the row and in the round
- Understand the importance of your stitch count and stitch marker placement

Crochet for Beginners (2-hour online workshop)
Learn how to crochet in no time with this easy-to-follow live online crochet class. Your experienced tutor will guide you through every step of the process, and the small class size means you'll have plenty of support. This online course will last for two hours and include a maximum of six participants. It is suitable for complete beginners or anyone who may have crocheted in the past but has forgotten the main technique and the basic stitches.
By the end of your crochet workshop, you will:
- Know the difference between US and UK terminology
- Understand how your hook size, tension, and yarn weight affects the outcome of your finished piece
- Be able to cast a foundation chain
- Complete a row of single crochet stitches (US)

- Skill permitting: Complete a row of double/treble crochet stitches (US) and/or observe the method

Tunisian Crochet (2-hour online workshop)
Tunisian (or Afghan) crochet combines techniques found in both crochet and knitting, although no experience of either craft is required to participate in this course. Suitable for complete beginners or any crochet enthusiasts who would like to diversify their skill set, this two-hour course will guide you through the basics of Tunisian crochet, step by step. Each course will include a maximum of eight participants.
By the end of your crochet workshop, you will:
- Grasp the basic terminology, including the forward pass and the return pass
- Know what specialised equipment is needed
- Understand how your hook size, tension, and yarn weight affects the outcome of your finished piece
- Be able to cast a foundation chain and complete the first-row forward pass (using the simple stitch)
- Successfully complete the return pass, and continue in rows using the simple stitch
- Skill permitting: Complete or observe the method of the Tunisian knit stitch
- Learn how to cast (bind) off and finish your piece
You will need:
- 5mm/5.5mm/6mm Tunisian (afghan) crochet hook
- Light coloured Aran/worsted weight yarn
- Scissors
- Internet connection
- Zoom application
You will be sent a booking confirmation directly from Oh So Pretty and Clever within 48 hours of booking which will have all the information you need, and a link to the recommended materials for your workshop (if you have booked the two-hour beginner's class or the Tunisian crochet class). After that, your joining instructions will be sent to you during the week prior, which will contain the Zoom link to join.
