Allow us to introduce you to... James Mouland Ebru Studio

James is an English artist and designer based both in Portsmouth, England and Istanbul, Turkey. He specialises in contemporary Paper Marbling and Turkish Ebru, an intriguing and fascinating art form which dates back hundreds of years and refined by generations of secretive practitioners.

Enthralled by traditional Ebru methods including the preparation of one’s own brushes using horsehair and rosewood, crushing and mixing raw earth pigment and the six week process of educating the dye with ox gall, James now wants to share this incredible art form with everybody.

Why we love James Mouland Ebru Studio

James Mouland is a renowned Ebru artist, having sold multiple pieces and exhibited his work in the historic Antik Hotel in Istanbul.

James studied Ebru for five years in Istanbul under the expert tuition of Kubilay Dincer before setting up his own studio. His dedication to the craft and learning how to perform it authentically and beautifully means that you know you are learning from one of the modern masters of the craft.
